Wheat Free Pasta vs Asian Orange Chicken

wheat_free_pastaIn case you missed it or are just not a fan of reality television, last nights episode of the Celebrity Apprentice featured frozen food giant Swan. Personally I would like to know how much these companies pay the Donald  for what amounts to a 1 hour commercial but I digress. what Swan was looking for was a innovative dish to add to their frozen food line as well as a marketing plan for the companies innovative delivery and customer service.

The show featured Herschel Walker against Jesse James as team leaders. Team Herschel lacking for ideas came up with a Clint Black recipe for Ginger-Soy Chicken though it didn’t work out to well and became Asian Orange Chicken which was well liked by the boys from Swan but hardly innovative.

Team Jesse or should I say team Annie Duke since she pretty much takes over, anyway Annie delivered and suggested a great wheat free, gluten free, turkey meatball pasta. They even came up with a plan to hide veggies like spinach using them as filler and adding to the nutritional value of the meal. Long story short despite a lack of a marketing plan the execs picked the wheat free turkey meatball pasta as the winner, recognizing the growth of the allergy free food market as well as those with celiac disease.
