Natural Allergy Cures
Filed Under Allergy Blog | Leave a Comment
Been a rough week as everyone I know seems to be coughing and sneezing with allergies or sinus colds, guess its the time of year. In the past year I have Written about many allergy studies that have centered around slowly desensitising those with allergies. If early research is right desensitisation could be one of the best natural allergy cures. Most of the studies claim to be successful in helping those with allergies live more allergy free lives with fewer breakouts and trips to the emergency room. Many of the studies center around milk and peanuts and use children to test their theories. The studies I have come across also involve very small pools of participants and will obviously need further validation. I have always maintained that natural allergy cures do not have to exclude those responsible for traditional medicine but encourage the two to work in synergy.
Recent Allergy Studies
Its important to note that as exciting as this research may sound you should never try this on your own as medical supervision is a integral and necessary part of these trials. The exposure is most studies also starts off with a powder that is very fine and could not be replicated on your own, Also the levels and increase in dosages have been carefully selected. Doing this on your own would be foolish and dangerous.
With that being said many of the studies done seem to be achieving great success. However in these cases they are not curing the allergy but allowing people to be exposed to a greater amount of the allergen with out allergy symptoms. A peanut allergy sufferer who was successfully treated would no longer have to worry about eating out and being served a meal that had trace amounts of peanuts.
I believe this important break through has the potential to be the corner stone for drug free natural allergy cures. Also looking out a few more years we may see the development of nano type treatments for allergies as the use of nanomedicine evolves. We may not see a out right cure for allergies over the next 5-10 years but I am confident that we will find much better ways out controling and eliminating symptoms.

Seems robots aren’t just building cars on the assembly line anymore. A Japanese weather and information company has installed 500 robots to monitor allergy levels and keep the public informed in Japan.
These robots do not resemble your typical robot and they won’t get your dinner or do the house work. They look rather like a large inflated beach ball. The balls are placed at various locations in the city and collect information on pollen levels. The balls rank pollen levels on a 1-5 scale and when pollen levels change they will change color. The robots also collect data on current weather condition.
The company hopes the robots will help the public make better choices and let them know when they should stay inside or try and limit time outdoors to avoid higher pollen levels. Many people living in Japan suffer from pollen allergy symptoms, this is due to the large number of cedar trees.
I am not sure anything like this exists in North America but if they did they would likely be red and indicating a very bad allergy season ahead. In many areas spring allergy season is just beginning and most of the east coast had a long snow filled winter which should make for a very wet spring.
Check Your Local Pollen Levels Right Now
Though we may not have allergy robots in the United States you can always check your current pollen levels by entering your zip code into our allergy index. The index gives a accurate measurement of current pollen levels and the default is set for New York city.

Allergy Screens
Filed Under Allergy Blog | Leave a Comment
With the warmer weather of spring and summer fast approaching, people looking to spend more time outdoors or bring more of the outdoors inside often trigger allergy symptoms. Unfortunately this time of year is also prime time for some pollen related allergies.
While some go to great lengths to avoid exposure once their allergies have been triggered, including spending as little time outdoors as possible and leaving windows closed to prevent allergens from entering the home. Spring however is also a time when many people want to have windows open for some fresh air which of course present a bit of a problem, now however there maybe a solution.
Allergy screens are available which can reduce the amount of pollen that is able to enter the home. Allergy screens in most cases can be easily installed and removed on windows and screen doors. PollenTec has developed a allergy screen that they claim their research shows blocks 100% of grass pollen and over 90% of most other types of allergy related pollen. You can view more facts and information about their products at pollentec.com. If their numbers are correct it might make a allergy screen a terrific investment for those who suffer from seasonal pollen allergies.
